You may call me a homophobe and  I can't do much to change that  nor will I apologize.   My views don't matter, it's what the Bible says on the  subject.    I encourage everyone who reads this book to look up all scripture references:   You will find that you must stretch logic and reason very far to arrive at  different conclusions.    Also, if you can't recognize God as a higher authority than your own personal ideas I doubt that you'll  get much benefit from the following.    You will, however, find out how and where most Bible-based Christians develop their own attitudes and ideas about homosexuality.

The very first record or reference to homosexuality can be found in the Old Testament of the Bible in Leviticus 18: 22 which says;  "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, that is detestable."   This was written over thirty-four hundred years ago and is the first opposition to homosexuality by all people who believe that the Bible is God's Word.

We all must deal with reality, whether or not it's comfortable to do so.   In the past two thousand years of history the Bible has been the greatest single source of guidance for law and ethics in the western world.   That fact is not going to go away!   Many millions of people have their ethical values and attitudes from the Bible whether they know it or not.   Whether you're  for or against homosexuality you can't get away from the influence that the Bible has on the people that are in your face, that you must deal with.

The opponents of homosexuality believe that people who are involved in the homosexual lifestyle are perverting the natural act of intercourse between members of the opposite sex into something that it was not intended to be.    In order to determine whether or not this is a valid point of view, the word "pervert" must be examined.  Pervert:  1. To cause to turn from what is considered right, natural, or true;   To misdirect;  To lead astray;   To corrupt.    2. To turn to an improper use;   To misuse."    It's hard to argue the fact that the vast majority of the world considers intercourse between members of the opposite sex to be natural and proper.   Those who disagree are supporting a way of life that the majority of people consider to be wrong, unnatural, corrupted, and to be an improper use of their bodies.

The words "pervert" and "perversion", by definition, are appropriate to describe homosexuality.    Obviously, the homosexual community can also read a dictionary, so they found it expedient to find a more acceptable name for people to call themselves.   There's no telling who came up with the term "Gay"  to describe homosexuals.   The word "Gay" means:    1. Joyous and lively, Merry, Happy,  Lighthearted.    2. Bright, Brilliant--as gay colors.    3. Given to social life and pleasures--as, a gay (Happy, lighthearted) life.    4. Wanton; Licentious; as, a gay dog.

I wonder how many women named Gay have started to use their middle names as a result of this.   Their pretty, happy name suddenly stands for something that most people consider to be ugly and shameful.

In Leviticus 20: 13 it says;  "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable.   They must be put to death;  their blood will be on their own heads."    This is very clear and to the point.   You would have to be intentionally dense to not understand that God considers it to be a detestable thing when a man has sex with another man.   When this happened in biblical times the guilty parties were put to death.

"Their blood will be on their own heads" means that the guilty parties here are responsible for their own death, not their executioners

Sodom and Gomorrah

"The Lord said (to Abraham), The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me."    "Two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening - - and they did go with him (Lot, Abraham's nephew) and entered his house. - - Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom - both young and old - Surrounded the house.   They called to Lot, Where are the men who came to you tonight?   Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them." (Genesis 18: 20 to 19: 29)      Lot went out and tried to reason with them and said: "Don't do this wicked thing."   Well, the account goes on to describe how the wicked men outside the door were stricken down with blindness and Lot and his immediate family were allowed to escape before the whole plain around Sodom and Gomorrah was laid to waste by God with fire and brimstone.   "On the wicked He will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot." (Psalms 11:6)   No one escaped except Lot and his family and one little town, Zoar, that he spent the next night in.    Some time ago there was a television documentary that included some comments on Sodom and Gomorrah.

A clergy-person made the statement that "it was not known what the great sins of these cities were!"   It's hard to believe that a person "of the cloth" can go out of their way to be so obtuse.   God announced His intentions to Abraham, then sent two of his angels down to check it out.   The only apparent contact that the angels had with the people of the town is that the homosexual men of the city wanted to rape them.   Lot described their intentions as a "wicked thing."   In the book of Jude it says:  Jud 1:7  Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, having, in the same way as these, given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire."

The next morning Lot and his family were rushed out of the city and when they got to the next nearest town, God commenced to destroy the whole plain of cities and towns.   It doesn't take a genius to figure out the cause and effect of this whole episode here!     I doubt that homosexuality was the only wicked thing committed by these people.    God is consistent and the one thing that has always angered God greatly is the worship of foreign gods and/or idols.    In the first chapter of Isaiah it mentions some of the things that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah did that displeased God.    It says; "Stop bringing meaningless offerings!    Your incense is detestable to me.    New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations - I cannot bear your evil assemblies.    Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts My soul hates. - - - You will be ashamed because of the sacred oaks in which you have delighted; you will be disgraced because of the gardens that you have chosen." (Isaiah 1: 13, 14, 29)    All of these things were a part of idol worship, which God detests.

The stranger in a Benjamite town.

There is an account of a man who spent the night in the town of Gibeah during his travels.   An old man took him and his wife (concubine) and servant in for the night.   During the night "some wicked men of the city surrounded the house.   Pounding on the door, they shouted - - Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him."

The account goes on to describe that the men outside got his wife to rape and abuse the rest of the night until she died.    The next morning the man sadly took his wife home, cut her up into twelve pieces, and sent them to the leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel.   The result of this was that "all the men of Israel got together and united as one man against the city" (Gibeah).

Three battles were fought.   The city of Gibeah belonged to the tribe of Benjamin and the whole tribe united in support of their city of Gibeah against all the other tribes of Israel.   The first two battles went to the Benjamites, then they asked the Lord God what to do.

"The Lord responded, Go, for tomorrow I will give them into your hands."   The next day a great battle was fought and over 25,000 Benjamite warriors died and "The men of Israel went back to (the territory of) Benjamin and put all the towns to the sword, including the animals and everything else they found.   All the towns they came across they set on fire

(Judges 19:11 to 20: 48)    Of the whole tribe of Benjamin, only six hundred men remained alive.   The Israelite tribe of Benjamin came very close to extinction because of this affair.

All of this was brought about because a group of men wanted to rape the stranger that spent a night in their town, and when they couldn't have their way with him, they brutally assaulted his wife through the night until she died.    God's attitude in this entire affair is very clear:   Homosexuals were punished for their perverted intentions and deeds as well as the people who supported them.   There's a lesson for us here in our present day and age!    Unlike Sodom and Gomorrah, there is only one specific act of wickedness that is to blame for this.    Thousands of innocent people probably died without knowing the real reason for the fight.    It is very improbable that the men of Gibeah told the whole truth of why their fellow Israelites were against them.    It's hard to believe that one entire tribe of Israel would condone such a brutal and immoral act of violence and what led up to this event.

The Apostle Paul

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Romans, makes it quite clear what the New Testament attitude toward homosexuality is: (Romans 1: 25-27) "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie - - Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts.   Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.   In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.   Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."    This scripture doesn't need any explanation.    After reading this nobody can say that the Bible doesn't take a stand on homosexuality.           It does and God is against it !

The actual word "homosexual" does not occur in the Bible but neither is the word "incest" used in God's Word.    This absence certainly can't be construed as an endorsement for either one!    Many Christians believe that the phrase "and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion" means that the disease AIDS was alive and functioning during New Testament times.    If not, surely venereal diseases took its toll of promiscuous people back then as it has through the ages past.    No, I don't assume that all homosexual people are promiscuous.    However, I believe that statistics show that the majority of homosexuals are, and that it's the main cause of the rapid spread of AIDS in our day.    In another scripture Paul also says "Flee from sexual immorality.   All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body." (1Corinthians 6: 18)

It is a curious thing that the majority of homosexual people do not change their minds about their sexual orientation.    Once they enter into that life, they stay.

Churches that actively try to turn these people around, at the best experience a 30% success rate.   It's unknown how many of these return to it later.    If you consider the phrase above; "God gave them over to shameful lusts" it seems to me that it's saying that when people make this choice, God is not going to waste any further time on them.    Their consciences will no longer convict them of their mistake in choosing homosexuality.

The animal kingdom

Homosexuality is against God's purpose for mankind.    The whole reason for the gender difference is for the purpose of procreation, not recreation.    All of nature supports this point of view.   The apparent exceptions to this in the animal kingdom are chimpanzees and dolphins, two species out of thousands.   It is debatable whether homosexual behavior  in these species can be attributed to genetics  or ritual acts of dominance and submission between males.   The fact that females were not observed demonstrating this behavior lends credence to the "dominance" theory.    Whatever the case may be, both chimpanzees and dolphins do mate with each other, male and female, to propagate their species.

A few years ago, some scientific researcher claimed the homosexual "gene" had been discovered.   "Finally, a scientific breakthrough had occurred to prove that homosexuals are, because they can't help it, and it's not from their choice.   It's in their gene pattern!"  The uproar died down rather quickly because of some rather embarrassing facts and the application of simple logic.    One function of a person's genetic pattern is to pass human traits down to your offspring.   Normally this means that if you and your wife are both blond then your kids are going to be blond, or if you have blue eyes and a long nose then your kids will probably come close to looking like that if your wife is not too different from that gene pattern.

However, if you believe that your genes have dictated that you are a homosexual and you're attracted to a same sex partner, who do you think you are going to pass this genetic pattern on to?   Male/male and female/female sexual unions don't produce any offspring, therefore you are the last of your line!   If there was any such thing as a homosexual gene, it would insure that that trait would become extinct.   In spite of this very simple lesson in logic, there are still many homosexuals that believe their so-called condition is genetic and not by their personal choice. (I wonder if there is supposed to be a pedophile gene?)    The final blow to the idea that homosexuality is genetic is the fact of the many cases of identical twins where one chose to be homosexual and the other remained normally heterosexual.    So the genetic mandate must remain just wishful thinking for homosexuals.    It never was a fact!

It's about choice

So why are there homosexuals?   If it's not predetermined by your genetic pattern then it must be by choice.   Why would anyone choose to be a homosexual?    Sexual gratification is the quick answer, after all, homosexuality is about sex, pure and simple!    Yes, feelings of love and companionship can and will develop between members of the same gender whether or not they are sexually involved with each other, but the whole thing starts with, and revolves around sex.    But you say that people can have sexual gratification between a man and a woman, so what's the attraction between people of the same sex?

It would be nice if we could ask Adam and Eve about the attraction of the "forbidden fruit".

Everyone in the world is tempted to do things that they have been told is wrong.

That's just the way we're built and it's not going to change.

Rom 3:23  for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,

When you get a group of people together that actually enjoy doing the same wrong thing, it logically follows that they will try to convince the majority of people around them that what they're doing is actually right.   In the case of people who choose to be homosexuals, that practice that the Bible labels a perversion, their approach to convincing the majority that what they are doing is right, is extremely clever.    When teaching people about an unknown thing, something they don't understand, you start off by discussing what those people do understand and agree on.        One of the "Hot Topics" of our time is racial discrimination.    The majority of people now agree that discrimination against minority races is wrong and that it is good that we have laws that punish people who violate them.

The homosexual community is presently in an advanced stage of comparing the problems of minority races with the problems of their minority homosexual group.   They are rapidly convincing many people that it is one and the same problem.   That is brilliant, but wrong.    People can't choose their skin color or racial features.    It is inherently ridiculous to believe that moral opposition to people who choose to become homosexuals is the same thing as opposing people because of the color of their skin.     If you carry their thought out to its logical conclusion, then any minority group should be able to claim the same protection and equality under the laws that protect minority races.    That includes pedophiles, people who get their sexual gratification by molesting children, and other deviants who choose to practice their own particular perversions.   They all believe that they should be able to do what they want, after all it's a free country!

Homosexuals believe that because they are increasing in numbers--and that they generate a lot of attention for their cause--that they are coming closer and closer to full legal acceptance in our country.    That may be true, but the Nazi's in Germany were lawfully accepted in their country and had complete control, but that didn't make them right.    How's that for a comparison?    Communism was legally accepted in Russia and they killed millions of their own people, but that didn't make them right either.    Even in a democracy, ethical right and wrong is not decided by numbers.   The majority can vote a thing into acceptance, which makes it lawful, but God has preeminence in the determination of what is morally right or wrong.   God has made it very clear in the Bible that homosexuality is a perversion.   The Biblical point of view is that the actions of homosexuals are evil.    It is ethically and morally wrong in God's sight.    That is in accordance with God's Word, the Bible.    You may disagree with this!    You may not like this!    But, you are not going to change God's Word, the Bible.    You can mumble about "Interpretation" all you want, but all of the relevant scriptures say the same thing and they can't all be misinterpreted to say the opposite thing.

I have watched a few of the pro-homosexual movies where they are made out to be a quite noble but misunderstood people and I really have no problem with the concept that a lot of homosexuals are basically good people.    How many times have you heard or known of people that are basically good and decent but have a problem with minor shop-lifting or a pastor or politician that was involved in a sex scandal.   These things happen to good, decent, normally ethically righteous people.    Everyone is capable of making a mistake.    Some of the nicest decent people make mistakes.

So who says that a same-sex relationship is a mistake?

You have read above the relevant Bible scriptures that clearly states that God has declared in no uncertain terms that homosexuality is wrong.    I truly believe that the reason that homosexuality appears to be on the increase is that the majority of people just don't know what God's Word says about this subject.

These people are not necessarily bad, evil people but what they are doing is a perversion in God's sight.    He's the one who made us male and female for a purpose and He has every right to condemn those who pervert that purpose.

In an effort to demonstrate a sort of de facto acceptability, the homosexual leadership claims that 10% of everyone in the U. S. are homosexuals (in or out of the closet).    The U. S. population is about 275 million people during the year 2000.    10% of that is 27.5 million people.    To get your mind around that figure; 27.5 million people is about one fourth of all white males in our country.    Another good comparison is the total black population of 35 million people in the U.S.    To say the least, the 10% figure must be considered a fantasy.    There is no evidence to my knowledge to prove that such a large number of people in our country, 27.5 million, are homosexuals.    I would think that possibly 2% or 5.5 million people might be homosexuals at the most.    It really doesn't matter because the numbers don't have anything to do with what is acceptable in God's sight.    Just don't be taken in by these wild claims of millions and millions of people that are supposedly homosexuals.    The numbers have no relation to God's judgment of this matter.

In the "Forward" to this book, I told you that some things are going to get worse.    Here is a possible scenario:    I said that churches are corporations in their respective states and that pastors are also licensed by the state.    Laws and/or regulations are already in place preventing anyone speaking out against homosexuals in some educational institutions.    More hate-crime laws are in the works.    The homosexual community is very busy extending this into all public sectors in their effort to "fight discrimination".    All churches are open to the public.    When a Minister teaches God's word to his congregation that homosexuality is a perversion that God disapproves of, it will only take one homosexual to turn the pastor in for "hateful"  discrimination against homosexuals.

The authorities must act on that charge because the complaint is against a state corporation (the church), which gives them the authority to do so, and against a pastor that the state has licensed.    What happened to the Constitutional separation of church and state?     If there was such a thing then churches wouldn't be state Corporations now, and pastors wouldn't have to be licensed now.    You might think that eventually something has to give.    One side or the other has to back off.    For homosexuals to back off, they would have to go back into hiding, or at a minimum, stop pushing their agenda so aggressively.    That's not going to happen!    For people who try to live according to God's Word, they would have to compromise their religious beliefs, or at a minimum, stop publicly teaching the Bible.        That's not going to happen either!

People who believe that the Bible is God's Word and try to live their lives by its precepts, can not compromise their stand on homosexuality, because there is no compromise in the Bible.     God is adamantly against homosexuality in any way, shape, form, or fashion.     I think that it's obvious to anybody that believes in God that He has the last word in everything.    God doesn't compromise!    When the laws of our land are changed to further reduce the separation of church and state, and the "authorities" are obligated by law to suppress the teachings of the Bible, then a revolution will occur.    I doubt very much if both sides will just agree to disagree, and leave it at that.    What if a Christian doesn't want to rent an apartment to a homosexual for his own personal religious reasons?    I can think of dozens of other scenarios where a clash will occur.   I  personally do not see a happy ending to this problem.    Laws that suppress Christian ethics, the founding principles of our country, will only make things worse.    In the end, I only hope that God's law will prevail.

"Your compassion is great, O Lord; preserve my life according to your laws.    All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal."

  (Psalms 119: 156, 160)

Since the above was written, California State governor  Schwartzenegger  signed "SB1234" into law during October of 2004 making it illegal for the public reading of those portions of the bible that condemns homosexuality.    It is now considered a "Hate Crime" in the state of California.    Other states will probably follow suite.    Isn't it amazing that the guiding light for the Muslim religion, the Koran (which does not contain the word "love"), has no such legal obstacles to its public reading?    Yet those Muslim hate groups that look to the Koran for guidance are responsible for 9/11 and other acts of atrocities against our country.

1Ti 1:5  But the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith unfeigned,

1Ti 1:6  from which some, having swerved, have turned aside to foolish talking,

1Ti 1:7  desiring to be teachers of the law, neither understanding what they say nor that which they affirm.

1Ti 1:8  But we know that the law is good if a man uses it lawfully,

1Ti 1:9  knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous one, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

1Ti 1:10  for fornicators, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and anything else that is contrary to sound doctrine,

1Ti 1:11  according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
